Women’s Entrepreneurship Day.
Appreciate and celebrate the work of those special women who are in business to develop opportunities, create products and generally make the world a better place!
History of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day.
Celebrated in 2014, the first Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) event was held in New York City at the United Nations, as well as other events held in other countries all over the world. In fact, 144 different countries recognized and celebrated the first day.
The day was
founded and established by Wendy Diamond who is an entrepreneur and had volunteered with a foundation that helps to provide microcredit to low income women in Honduras. Following this experience, Wendy, who is also the Pet Pioneer, Animal Fair Media founder, decided that she wanted to help others all over the world to promote such causes.
Receiving a great deal of press even in its first year, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is an international observance that has been recognized by Forbes Magazine, Fortune Magazine, and even by the United States House of Representatives.
In addition to celebratory events, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Pioneer Awards aim to recognize notable women who have shown leadership in a whole host of different types of business ventures. Plus, the WED also carries an ambassador and fellowship program that continues to promote and provide opportunities to women all over the world.
Women's Entrepreneurship Day is everyday! Celebrate, empower & support women in business to alleviate poverty!
