❀ Entrepreneurship : Successful Female Entrepreneur. Cath Kidston The founder of the eponymous company, famed for its floral designs, says she wishes she’d been braver when she was young and hints at a new venture. ‘I'm not someone who wants to be famous'. ✿ The Londoner waited until the age of 45 to found her self-titled company, having spent her early years as a shop owner specializing in second-hand furniture. The creation of Cath Kidston Ltd, which sells vintage clothing and home furnishing, has been the making of Kidston, enjoying huge success during a worldwide recession. A year after stepping down from the Cath Kidston Group when it had a market value of £250m, Cath founded a new solo venture, JOY OF PRINT, a creative design studio, in 2017. She is a trustee of the charity Fine Cell Work and is involved with a number of small start-up businesses.
As the founder of Cath Kidston LTD she learned 10 lessons: ⋰Stay true to your idea.
Learn to say no.
Don't confuse a distraction for an opportunity.
Trust your gut.
Don't worry about speaking up.
Know what you don't know.
Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Good people are not always the right people.
You're more of a fighter than you think.
