Sisterhood : I’m a girl, not different from any other. Don’t be confused by my fancy clothes. These are my mom and my best friend. Since I was a child I always wanted to have a sister. Most of my friends had siblings and I always missed that feeling to have that unconditional love. Someone who was always in all my happy, difficult and important moments so I’d never be alone. Solitude is one of my deepest fears. When I met Aiko at the school that feeling was replaced for the joy to find a sister beyond the blood. Blood makes us relatives, love makes real sisterhood. She has a sister and a brother but we are more bound and we understand each other in a way they’ll never do.

From the moment I really understood this simple thing I never had fear to be alone anymore. Even if someday Aiko leaves my life I deeply believe that many others could come as long as I remember the values of sisterhood: really care about others, empathy and compassion. It’s magical to think that your sisters and brothers could be all around the world.

Hermandad: Soy una chica, igual a las demás. No dejéis que mis llamativas ropas os confundan. Estas son mi madre y mi mejor amiga. Desde que era una niña, siempre quise tener una hermana. La mayoría de mis amigos tenían hermanos y siempre eché de menos ese sentimiento de amor incondicional. Alguien que estuviera siempre en todos mis momentos felices, difíciles e importantes para no estar nunca sola. La soledad siempre ha sido uno de mis miedos más profundos. Cuando conocí a Aiko en el colegio, ese sentimiento fue reemplazado por la felicidad de encontrar a una hermana más allá de la sangre. La sangre nos hace parientes, el amor crea verdadera hermandad. Ella tiene un hermano y una hermana pero nosotras estamos más unidas y nos entendemos de una manera que ellos nunca lo harán.

Desde el momento que comprendí esto tan simple nunca volví a sentir miedo a estar sola. Incluso si algún día Aiko se aleja de mi vida, creo profundamente que muchas otras vendrán mientras recuerde los valores de la hermandad: que realmente te importen los demás, empatía y compasión. Es mágico pensar que tus hermanos y hermanas podrían estar en cualquier parte del mundo.
